QuantX Ops FAQ: The Questions Buyers Actually Ask
Data ownership, migration, offline access, customisation, GST, support, and what happens if you leave. Direct answers, including where the answer is no.
These are the questions that come up in almost every evaluation, answered as directly as we can — including the ones where the answer is unhelpful.
Who owns our data?
You do. It is your business records held on your behalf. You can export it, and if you leave you take it with you.
How long does it take to get running?
A company with its people list ready can be transacting in days rather than months. The org import takes the whole staff structure from one spreadsheet, and the chart of accounts, numbering and approval workflows are already there. What takes time is your own decisions — who approves what, and what your leave policy is.
Can we import our existing data?
The organisation — people, seats, departments, reporting lines, salaries — yes, from a spreadsheet, with a preview before anything is applied. Customers and catalogue, yes. Historical transactions, generally no: we would rather you started clean and kept the old system read-only for reference than carried a decade of ambiguity forward.
Does it work offline?
No. It is a web application and needs a connection. If your sites have no connectivity, this is a real constraint and you should weigh it.
Can we customise it?
Within limits, deliberately. Approval workflows, request forms, duty roles, document numbering, masters and the chart of accounts are all yours to configure. The core process — estimate to work order to invoice to ledger — is opinionated and not configurable, because that opinion is what makes the figures reconcile.
We are not GST-registered. Does that matter?
No. QuantX Ops asks whether you charge tax rather than assuming, and invoices correctly carry none if you do not. For context on when registration and e-invoicing bite: the e-invoicing threshold has been ₹5 crore since August 2023, and it is based on your highest turnover in any year since 2017-18 rather than your current one.
Who can see salaries?
Only people holding the permission for it — typically HR and administrators. Access is by duty role, not by seniority, so a department head does not see pay just for being senior.
What happens when an employee leaves?
Their approvals keep working. Routing resolves to the seat, not the person, so whoever occupies it next answers what was waiting. This is one of the better reasons to run the org chart properly.
Can two people work on the same thing at once?
Yes, and the system prevents the damage that usually causes: documents lock while being issued, so two people cannot invoice the same milestone simultaneously or receipt the same payment twice.
What if we bill more than the customer ordered?
You can. QuantX Ops warns you clearly, shows the overrun figure, and lets you proceed — because it happens legitimately. What it will not let you do is overrun without noticing.
Is our data separated from other customers'?
Yes, and by the database rather than by the application code. See how isolation works.
What support is there?
There is an in-app helpdesk that raises a ticket and routes it, and the full user manual ships inside the product.
