The Single Thread: From Enquiry to Cash in QuantX Ops

QuantX BIM7 min read2026-09-11

The one idea that explains every screen: each step inherits from the one before it, so the price your customer agreed is entered once and never retyped.

Most software makes you enter the same number four times. The quotation is in one file, the order confirmation in another, the invoice in a third, and the ledger is typed up at month end by somebody reading all three. Every hand-off is a chance to disagree, and the disagreements are only found when a customer refuses to pay.

QuantX Ops is built so that cannot happen.

Step by step

1 · The customer — Party 360

One record per organisation: addresses, contacts, GSTIN, and the history of everything you have sold them and everything you owe them.

2 · The opportunity — Deals

A pipeline with stages and follow-ups, so an enquiry does not die in somebody's inbox.

3 · The priced offer — Estimates and Proposals

Build the price from its parts: material, labour, subcontract, overhead. The estimate is what you know; the proposal is what the customer sees.

4 · They accept — the Work Order

This is the hinge of the whole system. The work order is the customer's purchase order: what they asked for, at what value. Everything downstream measures itself against it.

5 · You do the work — Projects

Tasks, a schedule, people assigned, time booked, cost captured as it is incurred rather than reconstructed afterwards.

6 · You bill — the Tax Invoice

Raised against the work order, so the amount comes from what was agreed. Part billing is normal and supported. The GST split is computed, not typed.

7 · They pay — the Receipt

Recorded against the invoice, capped at what is owed, posted to the bank.

8 · Something is wrong — the Credit Note

An issued invoice is never edited. It is corrected by a second document that references it, which is both what GST requires and what makes the account readable a year later.

Why the thread is the product

Any individual screen here exists in a dozen other products. What does not is the guarantee that they are the same data: that a project manager cannot mark work billed without an invoice existing, that an invoice cannot quietly exceed the order without saying so, and that the ledger is written by the documents rather than typed up after them.
